BANK LEVY
Process Server for Bank Levy
Need to serve a bank account or possession levy immediately? Timing is important for a bank levy process server to freeze accounts before the debtor can remove funds.
A bank account levy is used by judgment creditors to recover money owed for a debt. The judgment holder files a writ of judgment with the court where the judgment was entered against the debtor as a bank account levy. Such a levy grants permission to take the debtor’s assets.
The writ for levy is served on the debtor’s account at the location the account is held. Some banks make it harder to enforce judgments by making you serve a specific branch. At Atlantic Legal, our experienced, licensed, and bonded process servers get documents such as a writ of judgment, memorandum of costs, claim or exemption, or notice of levy served quickly to ensure accounts targeted for levy are not tampered with.

A bank account levy allows a creditor to legally take funds from your bank account. When a bank gets notification of this legal action, it will freeze your account and send the appropriate funds to your creditor. In turn, your creditor uses the funds to pay down the debt you owe.
Levies are usually used to take money from a debtor's bank account, while garnishments are court-ordered seizures of debtors' wages before they go into bank accounts.
